 Files & Folders
You can only rename multiple files so that the outcome is the same name. You can't rename them with different names at the same time.

  1. Navigate to the location where the files and/or folders are contained.
  2. Select all of the files and/or folders that you wish to rename.
  3. Right-click on one of the files and select 'Rename' from the context menu.
  4. Type in the desired filename for all of the files.
  5. Press 'Enter'. All of the selected files will have the same filename in sequential order. (Vacation (1), Vacation (2), Vacation (3), etc.)

Files & Folders
You can use this trick with system folders too: My Computer, My Documents (XP), User Profile Folder (Vista), My Network Places, C:\, D:\, etc.

  1. Navigate to the location where the folder is contained.
  2. Drag the folder to the very edge of the screen. It doesn't matter what side, as long as you don't drag it onto the taskbar.
  3. The folder will become a bar on the edge. You can drag the bar to any edge of the screen, as well as on the taskbar.
  4. You can also drag the bar toward the center of the screen and let go. It will become a taskbar window.
